Vitamin D
Vitamin D helps the absorption of Calcium and Phosphate. These are necessary for good bone and teeth structures. It also has a role in the functioning of the immune system. Sunlight on the skin makes Vit D. Only a small amount is obtained from food, so you should take supplement Vit D in the winter months. Lack of Vit D causes Rickets,Soft Bones, Bone pain and muscle weakness. You may be at risk if you are in one these groups: -Pregnant and breast feeding women -babies and children under 5 -older people over 65 -people not exposed to sun on skin. -darker skinned people e.g african,asians.
